The Dolphins Keep Making the SAME Mistakes | Nothing to Hyde

The Miami Dolphins had a chance to win in Minnesota. Instead, the same problems showed up all over again.

On the latest episode of Nothing to Hyde, award-winning columnist Dave Hyde and former Miami Dolphins defender Kim Bokamper break down Miami's frustrating 15–10 loss to the Vikings—and ask when a young team making mistakes becomes a team that simply isn't meeting the standard.

For Dave, the fourth quarter told the story. Miami entered the final period trailing just 12–10, but the offense produced only three plays, two yards and one minute of possession, while the Vikings put together two long drives and eventually ran out the clock at the Dolphins' one-yard line.

Then there are the special teams. After multiple early breakdowns against Minnesota, Dave wonders whether Miami has reached the point where accountability has to follow. Bo agrees that special teams have become a recurring problem rather than an isolated bad game.

The guys also dig into an offense that scored just 10 points, the continuing penalty problem, Malik Willis' development, an offensive line struggling in pass protection, and the enormous impact of playing without De'Von Achane. Despite all of that, Bo still sees reasons for optimism—especially in young players like Ollie Gordon, Kadyn Proctor, Jacob Rodriguez and Chris Bell.

Plus, Brian Flores faces his former team, sparking a spirited debate between Dave and Bo about Flores' time in Miami. Bo still believes Flores was a great Dolphins coach, while Dave argues that his coaching ability was eventually overshadowed by the interpersonal side of being a head coach.

And because it's Nothing to Hyde, football eventually gives way to the important issues: Should you really have to tip when you're picking up your own pizza? Dave feels tip-shamed. Bo calls him a cheapskate. And somehow Uber drivers and Dave's Substack subscribers get dragged into the argument too.

The Dolphins knew this season would be about developing young players. But four games in, the bigger question is becoming:

When do the mistakes have to stop?
